HOW DO I KNOW IF MY TANK IS EXPIRED?
Due to Federal regulations, tanks older than 12 years must not be filled. They must have a stamp later than 2005 (for 2017) to be fillable.
STAMP MUST BE MORE RECENT THAN 05-05 (MONTH-YEAR)
If the tank has been recertified, it should have a sticker. If it has the letter "E" after the date, then add 5 years to the expiration date listed on the tank.
Below is an example to show a tank good until July of 2016. However, if a tank has visible rust or damage, it may be refused.
