I am looking for a laminated beam for a span around 13 feet by 8-10 inches wide for a roof over hang on my deck. Is this somthing you people can get and if so what is the aprox. cost?
Engineered wood products such as laminated beams are designed specifically for their application, so I need a bit more info from you in order to determine what size you need. I understand the beam will be 13’ long, and carrying the roof overhang on your deck. I also need to know:
1) What are the overall dimensions of the roof carried by this beam? I assume the width is 13’ like the beam, and if so, what is the length of the roof?
2) What town is your project in? MA snow loads are determined by town; I need the snow loading to design the beam properly.
Once I have this info, designing the beam only takes a few moments, and we stock 7 different sizes of laminated beams in lengths up to 48’. Depending on if the beam will be concealed from the weather, or needs to be preservative-treated to withstand the weather conditions, we’ll make sure we can price and provide what you need.
